AFT-West Virginia is the fastest-growing union in the state of West Virginia. Affiliated with the 60, 000 members of the WV AFL-CIO and over 1 million members of the American Federation of Teachers, the organization is comprised of chartered locals on the county level, as well as members from counties still working toward the goal of an autonomous local union. AFT-WV also represents higher education faculty and classified staff across the state, giving them a voice on their respective campuses as well as at the Legislature.
AFT-WV is the only education employee organization that does not accept administrators as members. If you can hire, fire, or evaluate, you are ineligble for membership. This protects our members from any conflict of interest during representation. You'll never have to wonder whose interest AFT will represent.
